What About writin` a FanFiction in English?

I`ve been thinkin`about writin` an English FanFiction for a long time now, and i`d like to know, what you would think about that idea!

So if you`re interested, just answer here and maybe we`ll have some English reading stuff soon...

Here a little look at my short-story in the making:

The MALP-Guys

Sgt. Reid was dreamin`about adventures with the legendary SG1-Team, like he used to do every day, as his daydreams were interrupted by the sound of metal scratchin` over the floor. Sgt „Shoggy“ Foster, his workmate, had some trouble with an old MALP that was damaged on a mission, scouting an ancient Goa`uld pyramid found on P3D-403. Everybody just called him Shoggy, because of the huge glasses he had to wear, which made him look like a turtle.

It sounds funny^^
But I would use the sign " ' " except of " ` " ... because if you must read a text where you nly use " `", you can get crazy.

Example: dreamin` -> dreamin'

I think it looks better, you understand?

I guess i had to much american society in the last month, that`s why i use to write it like that....

I tried to begin a fanfic in english, but it is hard when you have no dictionary at hand. But I hope, I can continue writing and in a few weeks perhaps post it in the forum. I want to write a story with the main Characters John and Daniel. Might be funny, but I don't know what is going to happen.

If you have no dictionary at hand, why don`t you use the LEO-Dictionary in the web..

I think that's a really good idea, unfortunately I hadn't the heart to write an english fanfic yet. Maybe in the future... who knows...?

And I think your starting is quite promising, but I'd like to suggest to get completely rid off these " ' "-endings. I guess it's not a proper way to write a serious story, isn't it?

And I believe you still "think too german"...concerning the word order.

The english language isn't that complicated. Do you know what I mean?
Maybe better this way? --> By wearing his huge glasses he looked like a turtle, that's why everybody just named him Shoogy. (only a suggestion!!! )

Did you read fics in english? I guess this would help a lot...

But anyway, continue your nice work!!!
