William Shatner and Sanctuary star Amanda Tapping will portray a galaxy-hopping musical act in The Zenoids, an animated series that will launch on the Star Trek legend’s sci-fi social network, Myouterspace.

The actors will play husband-and-wife Amphibinoid musicians in the web series, which begins production next month and will lean at least partially on crowdsourced story ideas gleaned from an online submission process, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

A post on Myouterspace outlines the plan: “Our story is about an alien family that’s always going for broke, following their dreams of singing with the stars across a galaxy full of funny. That’s where you come in. We want to see your funny. We’d like to offer the creative and comedic minds of Creatia, and all of Myouterspace, the opportunity to write your own episode. If your script gets selected by our staff, we’ll animate it. That’s right — your words in an animated short starring William Shatner and Amanda Tapping.”

The pair met last summer at San Diego’s Comic-Con International, where Tapping joked that they should do a show together. “Who knew it would come true?” she told the Reporter.

Unerhört das Tapping als Sanctuary-Star und nicht als Stargate-Star geführt wird.
